Dear Joey,

My older sister, Sarah met a guy named Joey when she was a sophomore and he was a Junior. They dated for two years. And once he graduated high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was in the reserves, only going to boot camp once and for fourteen months. Then, he went to basics for six months. We all wrote letters, sent cards, and bought presents. I love him like he's my own brother. Sarah and Joey got engaged in January, 2009, when Sarah was only eighteen, Joey being 21. They planned they wedding for July 31, 2010, by that time Sarah would be twenty and he would be 22. In October, 2009, Joe went away for a weekend with the USMC and was told that he would be deploying to Afghanistan in January, 2010. He called all of us, telling each of us and one by one, we all started crying. Once we had gotten over the crying mode, we went full-blown wedding. He would be gone for seven months, coming home until late October. He would go to South Carolina for two months, then he'd leave the country. They then planned the wedding of 600 people in two months, the date being December 19, 2009. The wedding was gorgeous, freshly fallen snow on the ground. The ceremony started at 4:00 p.m., then the reception started at 7:00 p.m. We partied until 3:00 p.m. the next day. I have to say I had the most fun there then ever. Christmas came by, then they left for their honeymoon the day after. He was off to South Carolina two days after they got back.
Time has gone faast with him not here. His unit is due to rotate out of Marjha, Afghanistan on September 1, 2010. He's coming home in 24 days! :D I'm so excited! I've talked to him on the phone alot, and he's started to get on Facebook. (: I'm soooo excited to see him! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ X's and O's, Hannah. ♥
